In
this week, teacher taught about the development of computer Assisted Language
Learning (CALL). After that I learnt
advantages and disadvantages of CALL. The advantage is save time, students can
learn whenever or wherever, and it more interesting. The disadvantage is have
to spend time to design. There are 7 kinds of CALL.
1. Tutorial instruction was the program that
gave the content to students in text, picture, audio, and all of them. After
that, students had to answer the questions and they would have a feedback when
the finished the task.
2. Drills
and practice was the program that had only
questions or problems to the students to solve them.
3. Simulation was the program that
simulate situation from the truth to practice skills to the students.
4. Instructional games was the program
that encourage students to learn the lesson.
5. Discovery was the program that
wanted students learned from their experience.
6. Problem-solving was the program that
wanted students to think and decide to do something.
7. Tests was the program that
tested the student's knowledge.
